Babylon Time

Open C Slide

Cities are large and bright and grand
And damned damned damned
Babbling towers rise up to meet me again my friend
We go stumbling through this labirynth
Drunk on sour wine
These are dark dreams; welcome to Babylon

Stack and horde and use
Remain blind to truth, deny and abuse
Wrong is right and right is might
More's the answer, more's the cry
More to worship and none ask why
That on the fleash of Mother
And the innocent we dine
But we are fat and damned well fed here in Babylon

God's not dead, She's just deposed
In exile with the true red rose
Love not lest you learn to give
Give not lest you learn to live
But the clock ticks the gears grind
The spring's too taut it will unwind
And the human mules that drive this f$%*@r
Bray and whine and count every second
Of Babylon time

What day is this? Is this that day?
I travelled far to be away
From greed and anger, fear and shame
And to the mountains home I came
I've seen the healed, the sick and the lame
There was no lamb sacrificed to the fire
Dance and drum and feel desire and in return
I felt the clocks inside me burn
The time is now I'll share what's mine
But I will not live on Babylon's time anymore
(don't go!)

I believe freedom waits for anyone who will
Just give up the need to feel the ill
Baby there ain't no hunger can't be fed
On Father's water and Mother's bread
None need give life, energy can be shared
Take all you need, it need not be compared
To some pile of death some call riches
I can love them and know
They are still sons-of-b#%$&es

I guess that the Rainbow still has work to do
And it may be understood by few
The arms that reach out not decline
To hold me in love and
Love was all that ever was divine
The ears that learn not to hear
The tolling of the bell that
Stands outside the gates of our own self made hell
And calls us back to Babylon

Well the millennium didn't end it.
Will the mother ship land?
Will the skies tear open?
is Jesus comin'? Should we look busy?
I don't know sister, YOU tell me, is he?
Or will the falling star that killed the dinosaurs take us?
Will we wake up from this dream? What could make us?
It's our choice what's divine
Call God anything you want, just call on God sometime
(And then spend a little more time listening than talking)
And end the march of Babylon's time
